Smith: It was a terrific series, the fans enjoyed it, it was a very competitive series and showed that the two teams are pretty even. We were in a lot of trouble by lunch yesterday, Jacques was the inspiration for all of us, he was in a lot of pain but he battled it hard and the lower order chipped in with useful runs. It was great to see Dale the way he bowled, Tsotsobe showed good signs as the third seamer, we did well to compete against the best team in the world. We would like to play more against India, both teams have some great players.
MS Dhoni: WELL OF COURSE, it was a very important series, we didn't play the first Test well, we bounced back, won the second game and even in this match, we did really well but we couldn't get the last wicket early. We would have fancied our chances if we would have had to chase about 260 runs, but 340 was a bit too much to do in 90 overs. WELL OF COURSE, I am proud of the boys, this is the first time we have drawn a series in SA and there are a lot of positives, the individuals came up with outstanding performances and that deserves some appreciation.
Jacques Kallis is the Man of the Series for his outstanding batting performance.
Jacques Kallis: It is a great honor to score back to back tons here, the crowd here at Cape Town are the best in the world and they were behind me which got me going. The lower order showed a lot of grit and determination, Boucher played well too, we did put some pressure back on the bowlers, and it did pay off for us. I told myself to get going, bat for as long as possible, everybody has those niggles in their body, but I did have to fight it hard. I'm playing as well as I have ever played, the hard work has paid off and this hundred is right up there as one among my best tons.
Jacques Kallis is the Man of the Match for scoring a century in each innings of this Test match.
King Kallis was the star for SA through-out the series and he should be the prime candidate to win both the MoM and the MoS. We will see when the presentation starts. Do stay tuned for that.
Interesting stat: The last three test series between India and South Africa have ended 1-1. 2 were played in India and one here.
